BECOME A CFC CARE PASTOR
Around the world, missionaries faithfully serve, disciple, pioneer, lead, and pour out their lives for the Gospel. Yet...
ministry can also be spiritually, emotionally, and physically demanding. Our desire is that no missionary would feel unseen, unsupported, or alone in their journey. At CFC, we believe missionaries should not only be sent well — they should also be cared for well. And by providing more pastoral care to missionaries, they will be able to live healthier lives, ultimately helping them to succeed in their calling.
WHAT IS A CFC CARE PASTOR?
CFC Care Pastors help strengthen and support missionaries serving around the world through consistent relational care.
THE ROLE IS CENTERED ON:
Prayer and encouragement
Spiritual and emotional support
Healthy communication and connection
Care Pastors are not expected to have all the answers. We are looking for people who are willing to love faithfully, listen well, pray consistently, and represent the heart of Jesus with humility and wisdom.
ARE YOU A GOOD FIT?
You may be a great fit for the CFC Care Pastor team if you:
Are a committed Christian who has been serving the Lord faithfully for
several years.
Demonstrate spiritual maturity – integrity, character, a strong understanding of the Bible, and ability to effectively pray for others.
Have experience with being in missions and/or cross-cultural communication and living.
Know how to listen with wisdom, compassion, and discernment
Have a holistic worldview with ministry – emotional, mental, and
relational health is as important as spiritual health and ministry
success.
Believe in the importance of global missions, the power of prayer, and the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Whether you have served in ministry for many years or simply carry a heart to care for others well, we would love to hear from you.
GENERAL EXPECTATIONS
Maintain regular communication with assigned missionaries.
Offer prayer, encouragement, and relational support.
Participate in periodic Care Pastor meetings or trainings.
Support the vision, values, and culture of CFC.
ESTIMATED COMMITMENT
Approximately 1 hour per month, depending on season. Our hope is that every missionary and care pastor would have a phone call once a month for an hour. If there is a crisis going on, the care pastor may need to meet more often with the missionary. Between connection calls, missionaries can stay in touch over a messaging app for any updates and prayer needs.
